Standard Operating Procedure for washing of fluid bed dryer cloth filter bag.
1.0 Purpose
The purpose of this SOP is to develop a standard procedure for washing of FBD filter bag.
2.0 Scope
This SOP is applicable to the procedure used for washing of cloth filter bag of fluid bed dryer used in the granulation area.
3.0 Responsibility
3.1 Granulation operator is responsible for washing the FBD filter bag.
3.2 Production Pharmacist is responsible for the implementation of this SOP.
3.3 The Head of production is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the current SOP.
3.4 Q.A Officer monitors the compliance of this SOP.
4.0 Procedure
4.1 Shake the filter cloth bag in FBD to ensure complete removal of the powder from the filter bag.
4.2 Bring down the hanger of cloth filter to remove the fluid bed dryer finger bag.
4.3 Remove the filter bag and place it in a polythene bag and affix to be cleaned label.
4.4 Shift it to the washing area for washing the filter bag of the fluid bed dryer.
4.5 Fill the portable water in a stainless container and dip the filter bag in water.
4.6 Flush the cloth filter bag 2 to 3 times by reversing the fingers of the filter bag.
4.7 Remove bag filter from container and fill the fresh water and again soak the cloth filter & flush it with water.
4.8 Remove filter bag out and fill fresh potable water in the container and add food grade detergent in it.
4.9 Sock the filter bag in detergent solution and flush with water until no residue is observed.
4.10 Bring out the cloth filter from the water and fill the purified water in the container.
4.11 Dip the filter bag in purified water and flush it thoroughly with purified water.
4.12 Take the sample of water for pH and conductivity and send it to QA for checking.
4.13 Remove the filter bag from water and hang it on a hanger if pH and conductivity of the water is within range.
4.14 If pH and conductivity are not within range again wash the filter bag thoroughly until pH and conductivity are within range.
4.15 When water is removed from the filter, put it in a polythene bag and dry it in the FBD of the required area.
4.16 When filter cloth is dry,remove it and put it in a polythene bag,affix a cleaned label and store it in a cleaned container.
4.17 Record the activity in the cleaning logbook.
