Standard Operating Procedure for cleaning of double cone blender.
1.0 Purpose
The purpose of this SOP is to establish a standard procedure for cleaning of double cone mixer.
2.0 Scope
This SOP will be applicable for the procedure used for cleaning of double cone blender used in pharma for mixing of powders or granules.
3.0 Responsibility
3.1 Machine Operator is responsible for cleaning the double cone blender.
3.2 Production officer is responsible for implementation of this SOP.
3.3 HOP is responsible to ensure the implementation of this SOP.
3.4 Quality Assurance Officer monitors the compliance of this SOP.
4.0 Procedure
4.1 Type A cleaning
Same product change over with the same color, flavor, potency and ascending potency.
4.1.1 The machine operator shall remove the product label from the double cone blender.
4.1.2 Clean the outer body of the double cone blender with dry lint free cloth.
4.1.3 Clean the safety guards and supporting frame body with dry lint free cloth.
4.1.4 Affix next product label and record the cleaning activity in logbook marking type A cleaning.
4.2 Type B cleaning
Different products change over,Same product with the different color, flavor, and descending potency.
4.2.1 The machine operator shall remove the wire plug of the double cone blender.
4.2.2 Unscrew the upper and lower lids of the double cone blender.
4.2.3 Wash outside and inside of the double cone blender with tap water.
4.2.4 Remove any stick material with the help of a nylon brush and flush it again with tap water.
4.2.5 Wash outside and inside of a double cone blender with 1% food grade detergent solution.
4.2 6 Now thoroughly remove the detergent solution with purified water.
4.2.7 Dry it from outside and inside with lint free cloth.
4.2.8 Affix cleaned label on the double cone blender.
4.2.9 Record the cleaning activity in the logbook marking type B cleaning.
