Standard cleaning procedure for cleaning of fluidized bed dryer.
1.0 Purpose
The aim of current SCP is to develop a standard procedure for cleaning fluid bed dryer.
2.0 Scope
This SOP is applicable for the procedure used for cleaning of fluid bed dryer.
3.0 Responsibility
3.1 Machine operator is responsible for cleaning the fluidized bed dryer.
3.2 The Production officer is responsible for implementing this SOP.
3.3 The head of production is responsible for ensuring the implementation of this SOP.
3.4 Officer QA monitors the compliance of this SOP.
4.0 Procedure
4.1 Turn off the electric supply of the fluid bed dryer and remove the FBD cloth filter after ensuring that there is no powder in the pockets of the fluid bed dryer filter bag.
4.2 Wash the fluid bed dryer cloth filter as per SOP for cleaning of FBD cloth filter.
4.3 Remove the powder (if any) from the product trolley,plenum and side walls of the drying chamber.
4.4 Dismantle the mesh of the product trolley and wash the product trolley and mesh with portable water.
4.5 Now clean the product trolley and mesh with 1% food grade detergent.
4.6 Again wash with portable water to ensure there are no traces of detergent.
4.7 Now wash thoroughly the plenum and drying chamber with portable water followed by 1% food grade detergent.
4.8 Now again wash the plenum and drying chamber with portable water to ensure there are no traces of detergent.
4.9 At the end rinse the product trolley,mesh, plenum and drying chamber with purified water and take water samples for pH and conductivity .
4.10 Dry all parts with line free cloth If pH and conductivity are in range.
4.11 Assemble the mesh to the product trolley.
4.12 Sanitize all parts with 70% IPA.
4.13 Hang the washed filter bag and run the fluid bed dryer to dry the cloth filter.
4.14 Record the cleaning activity in the logbook.
