Standard Operating Procedure for Peristaltic Pump (Volume delivering System Of Coating Suspension)
1.0 Purpose
The purpose of this SOP is to develop a standard procedure for operating the Peristaltic Pump.
2.0 Scope
This SOP applies to the Peristaltic Pump used in the coating area of the production section.
3.0 Responsibility
3.1 Machine Operator is responsible for operating the Peristaltic Pump.
3.2 Production Pharmacist is responsible for the implementation of this Standard Operating Procedure of Peristaltic Pump.
3.3 The HOP is responsible for ensuring the implementation of the current SOP.
3.4 Quality Assurance Officer monitors the compliance of this SOP.
4.0 Procedure
4.1 Coating Section Pharmacist shall ensure that the Peristaltic Pump & the area is properly cleaned.
4.2 Coating Section Pharmacist shall ensure that the Peristaltic Pump is labeled with the Relevant product label & the line card is awarded
4.3 After ensuring line Clearance, insert the wire plug of the peristaltic pump into the wall-mounted socket & press the ON Button.
4.4 Pass solution transfer pipes through the rotating head or roller head of the Peristaltic Pump.
4.5 Attach one side of the Solution transfer pipe to the spray guns & other side to the coating suspension tank.
4.6 Press the start button on the peristaltic pump to transfer the coating solution to the spray guns.
4.7 Turn compressed air ON for atomization and start the spraying process at the RPMs mentioned in the BMR.
4.8 For manual operation press the up or down buttons or rotate the controlling knob to increase or decrease the RPMs of the Peristaltic Pump.
4.9 If the Peristaltic pump is connected to an auto coater then Press the Pump button on HMI to start it working & increase or decrease its solution transfer rate by touching the Buttons given on the HMI of the coater.
4.10 Complete the coating process according to the BMR and at the end of the coating process, press the Reverse flow button to remove the solution from the pipes & Turn the peristaltic pump OFF by pushing the OFF button.
4.11 Remove the wire plug, attach the Peristaltic Pump ‘to be cleaned’ label and record the activity in the logbook of the Peristaltic Pump and sign it.
